The Indigenous Prosperity Foundation (IPF), a national charitable organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous women, youth, and early-stage entrepreneurs across Canada, is proud to announce the appointment of Relay Tangie as Vice President of Finance & Partnership Development. With over 20 years of global experience across diverse industries and sectors, Relay brings a wealth of expertise in financial strategy, operational excellence, and community-driven impact to her new role, advancing IPF’s mission to foster inclusive growth and sustainable development.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Fellow of the ACCA (UK), Relay’s journey—from Cameroon to the UK and Canada—has shaped her global perspective and resilient, community-focused leadership style. Reflecting on her path, Relay shares, “I learned early on that success is about more than personal achievement—it’s about uplifting those around you. I am committed to driving financial strategies that fuel innovation and empower Indigenous entrepreneurs to thrive.”
Relay’s leadership has been instrumental in delivering transformative initiatives, including the launch of the ADAAWE Indigenous Business Hub, now supporting over 270 Indigenous entrepreneurs, and the establishment of IPF itself. Her strategic oversight and unwavering dedication to community impact have created platforms that empower Indigenous entrepreneurs to achieve sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
"Relay has been pivotal in laying the foundation for the Indigenous Prosperity Foundation,” said Michelle Okere, Executive Director of IPF. “Her dedication, vision, and tireless efforts have already shaped our path forward. I am thrilled to have her by my side in this new role, knowing that her leadership will continue to drive meaningful impact and empower the communities we serve. Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous future for Indigenous entrepreneurs."
In addition to her professional achievements, Relay is deeply committed to community service. She is a member of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada’s Indigenous Working Group and serves as a Board Director for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and Immigrant Entrepreneurs Canada, contributing to broader efforts to empower marginalized and newcomer communities.
Relay’s appointment signals a significant step in IPF’s commitment to empowering Indigenous entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and financial support they need to succeed. Her leadership will guide IPF’s vision, fostering innovation, resilience, and a brighter future for Indigenous communities across Canada.
"I am honoured to step into this role,” said Relay. “My journey has taught me that true prosperity is about empowering communities to thrive.
